Our Story

In the 1940s, solicitor Gordon Finemore started business as a sole practitioner in Bundaberg.  Gordon Finemore later went into partnership with George Walters.  In 1952, Ian Story also joined the partnership, and the firm “Gordon Finemore & Walters” became “Finemore Walters & Story”.

Over the decades that followed, the name Finemore Walters & Story remained unchanged, but many more solicitors joined the firm.  Ian Story remained with the firm until his retirement in 1990.

In 2015 the firm began to expand beyond Bundaberg by acquiring the firm “KJ Rennick Solicitor”.  Finemore Walters & Story continues to operate a full-time office in Mundubbera servicing the Central and North Burnett region.

In 2017 Finemore Walters & Story acquired the firm Kingston and Stanton Solicitors and established a permanent presence in Childers.

Today, Finemore Walters & Story is one of the largest firms in the Wide Bay – Burnett region.
